Heading South

Oh, what a week!   Last Friday I took the 5th wheel into the shop due to the heater not working.  Then on Monday, I went to check on the progress of the repair.  The technician told me that he will get to it in the afternoon and promised that it will be finished by Wednesday.  I again asked him to check the AC unit too.  He then told me that he already checked the heater and AC and that it was working fine.  We then went out to the trailer and sure enough, it was working just the way it is supposed to.  So why, you might ask, did I take it into the shop on Friday and lose the whole weekend?  Because I didn't fully understand how the new fangled system worked.  Well, I do now and it only cost me $75 to have a lesson on the proper care and operation of the Carrier Heater/AC unit.

So, I got the trailer home on Monday afternoon.  The first thing I did after getting it home was to rub out the scratches that I inflicted on the right side of the exterior.  When unnecessarily pulling it out of the back yard I came too close to the cherry tree.  I should have taken a lesson from George Washington, and cut down that silly tree.

Well, Dayle and I have been working about 18 hours a day for two weeks emptying out the house, loading the trailer, cleaning and painting and shampooing the carpets making the house ready for our renters who were to move in about noon today (Thursday 4/14/11).

So after getting everything done, we hooked up the trailer.  Then I did something which was actually kind of difficult for me...I took down the flags that had flown in front of our house ever since September 11, 2001.  See photos.  Taking down the flags meant that we were really leaving.

So at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning of the 14th of April 2011, exactly 10 years 4 months and 14 days after arriving in Klamath Falls, we departed for a new ministry.  I was filled with mixed emotions, but it is such a joy and a comfort to know that our great God is in control and that He is our guide.  As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

As we headed south and saying good bye to Oregon, we stopped in Redding and met up with Ken Lynch and then on to Sacramento where we will spend a few days with Stephen and Neeley.  We plan on arriving in Lake Havasu on the 20th in time for Easter.

Please pray for travelling mercies for us and for wisdom and strength to minister to Bethany Bible Church.  Also please pray for my mother.  She was admitted to the the hospital with heart and diabetic problems.  She is not a believer.  My brother has been witnessing to her a lot lately.  Pray that her eyes will be opened to the truth.
